Architectural Patina and Weathering
The choice of 5 mm thick Cor-Ten steel anchors this technological object within the natural timeline of the environment. The steel oxidises to a warm, brownish-orange skin that contrasts with the clean paving of a square or harmonises with the autumnal tones of a tree line. This living surface makes the Branca M not only aesthetically intriguing but also low-maintenance and resistant to the harsh reality of the urban public realm.
Shadow Play and Visual Comfort
The Branca M is equipped with two linear LED modules of 1.2 metres that follow the faceted design language of the mast. This configuration creates a directed light image without light pollution, where the luminaire itself is barely noticeable during the day. Weighing 162 kg, the element stands robustly in the space, while the slender geometry keeps sightlines open at eye level, contributing to social safety.
Scaling Up in Rhythm
This model forms the ideal stepping stone between the intimate P-version and the monumental G-version. In landscape designs, the Branca M can be deployed to mark the transition from narrow paths to open spaces. By varying orientation and rhythm, a non-linear, organic light landscape is created that breaks with the rigidity of traditional lighting masts.
