With its imposing height of 10 metres and a complex geometry branching out in three directions, the Branca G lighting column acts as an unmistakable landmark in large-scale public spaces. This model is designed to structure substantial volumes, such as station squares, broad boulevards, or main park avenues. The branches, angled at 149 and 161 degrees, create a sweeping gesture that draws the gaze upwards, giving the space a strong vertical identity.
Natural Patina at Height
Executed in 5 mm thick Cor-Ten steel, this column forms a robust counterpoint to glass, concrete, and asphalt. The steel skin undergoes a natural oxidation process, ensuring the object does not remain static but evolves with the seasons. At this scale, the texture of the rust-brown surface becomes an architectural material in itself, bringing warmth to often grey urban contexts and seeking visual connection with the trunks of tall trees.
Triple Light Direction without Spillage
The Branca G is equipped with three independent 1.2-metre linear LED modules, strategically positioned within the branches. This configuration ensures powerful yet directed light distribution capable of illuminating large surfaces without polluting the environment with stray light. The lines of light appear to float in the air, resulting at night in an abstract interplay of lines that guarantees safety without diminishing the nocturnal atmosphere.
Creating an Urban Forest
Although the Branca G is powerful enough to function as a solitary element, its true strength lies in combination with the lower M and P models. By mixing these different heights and angles, designers can create an artificial 'forest' that mimics nature's organic randomness. This breaks the monotony of traditional, repetitive rows of lighting masts and transforms infrastructure into landscape architecture.
