Low wall as a place to rest
Not every outdoor space calls for a freestanding bench. Where school grounds, city squares and parks already feature low walls or raised edging, the Flavio offers a way to use that existing structure as seating in the public realm. The element anchors into the top of the low wall and follows the existing line naturally, without extra foundations or additional space. The compact length suits narrow passages and spots where space is limited but people want to pause.
Timber and aluminium for outdoor use
FSC-certified tropical hardwood gives the seat a warmth and material character that sits well alongside greenery and stone. The timber is treated with a protective oil and requires minimal maintenance under regular outdoor use. The supporting structure and armrest frames are finished in anodised cast aluminium: corrosion-resistant, colourfast and suited to coastal environments. What distinguishes this model are the anodised aluminium armrest frames that bound the seating area at both ends. When does a designer choose the backless Flavio over the version with a backrest?
The backless Flavio suits transition zones, path edges and areas where sightlines across the low wall need to be preserved. A backrest adds visual mass above the wall and closes the line of sight. For destination seating on squares, parks and care home settings, where extended comfort and rise support are priorities, the backrest variant is more appropriate. The armrests at each end provide grip when rising and fulfil the accessibility function per ISO 21542:2021. What substrate is required for mounting the Flavio on a low wall?
The aluminium support frames are anchored into the top of the low wall using fixation plugs. The supplied plugs are recommended for screed or a concrete foundation block. For masonry or other substrates, Servibo recommends a technical check before ordering. The hardwood slats are assembled onto the frames in a separate step. The unit is supplied unassembled and finished on site.
What maintenance does the tropical hardwood of the Flavio require?
The Flavio requires no specific maintenance unless the original timber colour is to be preserved. Cleaning with a pH-neutral, alcohol-free and non-abrasive product is sufficient. Servibo provides advice on request regarding suitable maintenance products.
