The Tramet Collection by Escofet 1886
A collection in solid pine and steel for city squares, campuses and public outdoor spaces. With or without a backrest, anchorable or freestanding.

The Tramet collection by Escofet 1886 comprises seating in solid pine and steel for intensive use in public outdoor spaces. The collection includes six models: stool, backless bench, benches with a half backrest left or right, bench with a full backrest and table. The pine is FSC®-certified; the steel structure is corrosion-resistant to class C5.
Bench design that belongs to its setting
A well-designed bench does more than provide a place to sit. It structures a square, encourages people to linger and gives a public space its human scale. The Tramet collection combines solid pine with a steel supporting structure into a coherent palette that suits a busy city square as readily as a green campus or a waterside park.
The neutral, solid form leaves room for the context: present enough to give character, restrained enough not to dominate. The six models are coordinated so they can be deployed individually or as a complete set.
Escofet 1886 developed the Tramet collection as a system that grows with the needs of the space. From a single bench in a small square to an extended seating zone on a university campus: the collection adapts without losing coherence.
Why choose the Tramet collection
FSC®-certified pine
Pine from responsibly managed forests. A material requirement that meets the standard criteria for sustainable public procurement.
Solid construction
Wide planks and a heavy steel structure give the bench a solid presence that withstands intensive use and changing weather conditions.
Flexible installation
Anchorable into the paving or used as freestanding elements. Temporary or relocatable placement without major groundworks.
Six coordinated models
Bench, backless bench, stool and table in the same design language. Coherent seating zones tailored to any public space, with optional armrests.
From city square to campus path
City squares and shopping streets
On a square with heavy footfall, street furniture takes considerably more wear than in a quiet park. The solid pine and steel construction withstands daily use while giving the square a distinctive, warm character. Backless benches along a pedestrian axis or at a central point offer seating for those who want to pause for a moment.
Campuses and educational settings
On university campuses, several Tramet formats work particularly well alongside each other: long benches for groups, stools for shorter breaks, tables for outdoor meetings. The collection allows seating zones to be composed that match the daily flow of the space.
Parks and green spaces
In a natural setting, the unfinished pine blends organically with its surroundings. The timber changes colour over time, which only deepens its integration into the landscape. With a backrest and optional armrests, the bench becomes a comfortable place to rest for longer.

Frequently asked questions
Autoclave-treated pine with a preventive fungicide lasts decades under normal use. The steel structure has a zinc primer and a coating rated for the most demanding atmospheric conditions up to class C5, including coastal areas and busy urban environments. Periodic visual inspection is sufficient in most cases.
A growing number of local authorities and public bodies include sustainable material requirements in their specifications. FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) is the most widely recognised international standard for responsible forest management. Benches with FSC®-certified timber generally qualify as a sustainable choice under green procurement frameworks and environment-related award criteria.
Yes. In addition to the standard anchoring with expansion bolts in the paving, the benches can also be used as freestanding, unanchored elements. This simplifies installation and allows for temporary or relocatable placement. A concrete foundation is recommended for soft or unstable substrates.
Autoclave-treated pine gradually changes colour: from the initial yellow-green hue to a silver-grey patina. This is a natural process that does not affect the durability of the timber. Those wishing to retain the original wood colour can treat the surface periodically with a suitable exterior timber product.
The collection comprises six coordinated models: stool, backless bench, bench with half backrest left, bench with half backrest right, bench with full backrest and table. They can be deployed individually or in combination. This makes continuous runs, mixed arrangements and varied seating zones possible. An optional armrest is available on the bench models with a backrest.
