Anchor element on the large plaza
At 360 cm the Sócrates 360® is not a bench in the conventional sense — it is a public furniture piece at architectural scale. This scale suits city squares, market places, and large park axes where visitor density requires a seating element that accommodates multiple people simultaneously, and where the horizontal mass of the bench also fulfils a spatial function: orientation point, windbreak, demarcation of the dwell zone. The Sócrates 360® is most at home where the empty space feels too large to dwell in without a clear anchor point.
The weight of concrete at large scale
At 360 cm the material is everything. The Sócrates 360® requires no visual support from other materials — the cast concrete with acid-etched finish is sufficient in itself. The acid treatment reveals the granular structure of the aggregates and gives the bench a texture that resonates with bluestone, granite, and the grey tones of the urban landscape. The waterproofing treatment protects the element for long-term outdoor use without masking the material-honest quality of the surface.
Line of light at plaza scale
The integrated LED lighting of the Sócrates 360® LED illuminates the full 360 cm of the bench from below. At this scale the illuminated bench is not a decorative accent — it is a spatial element that co-determines the evening identity of the plaza or promenade. The line of light marks the dwell zone in a way that also supports orientation and social safety in the evening. The electrical connection must be installed before the paving is laid; for larger projects Servibo coordinates the technical specifications with the contractor and electrical engineer.
Anchor for the complete project palette
Large public spaces require coherence at large scale. The Sócrates 360® as anchor element works best combined with other Escofet elements that follow the same concrete logic: planters in the same colour and finish, bollards that do not interrupt the bench profile, waste bins that do not break the material state. Careful installation for stability and lighting
The installation of the Sócrates 360 with integrated LED lighting requires careful planning to ensure stability and optimal lighting performance. The LED system is delivered with a pre-installed driver, which can be easily connected to a 24V power supply.
Safe transport and precise placement
Weighing 2230 kg, the transport and placement must be carried out using polyester slings and professional lifting equipment. To ensure stability, especially in high-traffic areas, anchoring the bench with DIN 931 M16 x 140 mm bolts in holes filled with resin or mortar is recommended.
Simple maintenance for long-lasting performance
Maintenance is minimal thanks to the durable materials and efficient LED technology. Cleaning the concrete surface with water and a soft brush is sufficient, while the LED lighting should be periodically inspected to ensure optimal performance.
